Okay, so I finally caved and bought the AKASO V50 Elite after months of debating whether to splurge on a GoPro. Let me tell you - this little camera is punching WAY above its price tag!
The 4K footage is crisp AF - like, my snorkeling videos look like they came straight out of a NatGeo documentary. And that EIS stabilization? Magic. My kayaking footage doesn't look like it was filmed during an earthquake anymore.
PRO TIP: The voice control is lowkey hilarious. Yelling 'Action Start Video' at your camera on the beach definitely gets some weird looks, but it's so convenient when your hands are full (or covered in sunscreen).
Not gonna lie though - the touchscreen can be moody sometimes. Trying to navigate menus feels like texting with gloves on. And yeah, battery life disappears faster than my motivation to workout when filming in 4K.
The real MVP? That waterproof case survived my clumsy attempts at underwater filming (and multiple drops onto boat decks). Came with SO many mounts that I still haven't used them all - but knowing I can strap this thing anywhere is awesome.
For the price? 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants great action shots without selling a kidney for a GoPro. Just maybe pack an extra battery (or three).
