Let me start by saying this dust shroud is a beast when it works properly. The polyurethane body feels premium in hand - it's flexible yet durable enough to withstand jobsite abuse. I've used it for concrete floor prep (goodbye, stubborn mastic!) and it outperforms cheaper plastic shrouds by miles.
The vacuum connection is my favorite feature. That 2.5" internal port creates insane suction when paired with a good dust extractor. No more choking on concrete dust! But fair warning - you'll need an adapter if your vacuum hose is smaller than 2-1/4".
Now the frustrations: Installation is finicky. Like other reviewers, I had to MacGyver a spacer for my DeWalt grinder to prevent the diamond cup wheel from bottoming out. The hinged side? Total pain. It barely clears my grinder body, and forcing it bends the shroud permanently (learned that the hard way). Edge grinding against walls becomes nearly impossible.
Brand compatibility is hit-or-miss too. Works flawlessly with my Milwaukee but needed modifications for DeWalt. Off-brand grinders? Forget about it.
Durability seems inconsistent - while mine's held up through months of abuse, some units apparently disintegrate within minutes (check those negative reviews!). At $60, that's unacceptable.
Verdict: Great concept with execution flaws. If you exclusively do flat surface grinding and own compatible name-brand tools, it's worth trying. For edge work or mixed equipment? Keep shopping.
