I've been using the SwitchBot Hub 2 for about three months now, and it's completely transformed how I interact with my smart home. The built-in temperature and humidity sensors are surprisingly accurate - I've compared them to my standalone weather station, and they're within 0.5°F. What really impresses me is how the display automatically adjusts brightness; it's never too bright at night but remains perfectly readable during the day.
The IR blaster functionality is where this device truly shines. I've replaced five different remotes (TV, soundbar, air conditioner, fan, and lights) with this single hub. Setting up new devices is incredibly simple - just point your existing remote at the Hub 2 and press buttons to teach it commands. I particularly love creating 'scenes' that combine multiple actions, like my 'Movie Night' scene that dims the lights, turns on the TV and sound system to preset levels.
Integration with Apple HomeKit via Matter was smoother than I expected. Within minutes of setup, I could ask Siri to adjust my thermostat or check the living room temperature. The two physical buttons on the front have become indispensable - one triggers my 'Good Morning' routine (opens blinds, starts coffee maker), while the other turns everything off when leaving home.
The only minor complaint? The USB sensor cable is a bit short (about 3 feet), which limited where I could place the hub relative to where I wanted temperature readings from. But considering everything this $80 device replaces (IR blaster, smart hub, environmental sensors), it's an absolute steal for anyone building a smart home ecosystem.
