Okay, so I finally finished building this pirate ship after what felt like a million years (okay, more like 7 hours spread over a weekend). First impression? The pieces are TINY. Like, 'drop-one-and-it-vanishes-forever' tiny. But hey, that's part of the fun, right?
The build itself was... an experience. The instructions flip-flopped between being super detailed and then suddenly leaving you hanging. At one point I swear I developed a twitch from squinting at those microscopic diagrams. Pro tip: have tweezers ready for those sail pieces - they're the real final boss of this set.
What surprised me was how good it looks when completed! The details are impressive for something this size. Though fair warning - it's about as stable as a pirate after too much rum. I ended up using some glue on the mast because breathing near it made pieces fall off.
Would I recommend it? If you love challenges and have the patience of a saint, absolutely! But if you're buying for kids under 12 or someone who gets frustrated easily... maybe stick to regular Legos.
Final verdict: 4/5 stars - loses one star for making me question my life choices halfway through building the rigging.
