Okay, so I just finished The Silent Patient and WOW. This book messed with my head in the best possible way!
At first I thought it was just another psychological thriller, but boy was I wrong. The way the story unfolds through Theo's perspective and Alicia's diary entries had me constantly questioning everything.
That twist though?! I literally gasped out loud at 2am (sorry neighbors). Michaelides totally played me - I was so sure I had it figured out but NOPE.
What I loved most was how atmospheric it felt. The descriptions of Alicia's paintings and the mental institution created such a vivid, creepy vibe that stuck with me even after finishing.
The only downside? Now every thriller I pick up afterwards feels predictable in comparison. This one really set the bar high!
If you're looking for a book that will keep you up all night turning pages (and then keep you up thinking about it afterwards), this is it. Just be prepared to question everyone's motives - including your own theories!
