Let me start by saying - wow! This 4K Ultra HD transfer of Carlito's Way makes one of Al Pacino's most underrated performances shine like never before. The upgrade in picture quality is immediately noticeable, with crisp details in every shadowy alley and neon-lit nightclub scene.

The Region Free UK packaging arrived perfectly for me, just like other reviewers mentioned. Both the 4K disc and standard Blu-ray played flawlessly on my PS5 (yes, it works on next-gen consoles!). The Japanese audio and subtitles are a nice bonus for international collectors.

Now the important part - the movie itself holds up spectacularly. De Palma's direction creates such tension, especially in that incredible final act. Some users reported playback issues during the climax, but I experienced no problems through multiple viewings.

The only minor complaint? While the film grain is preserved beautifully (as it should be), a few darker scenes show slight compression artifacts if you're looking really closely. But when Pacino delivers those intense monologues in crystal clear detail, you'll forget all about technical nitpicks.
