Just got my Cross Bailey Light ballpoint pen, and I'm torn between love and slight disappointment. The glossy gray resin body looks sleek with those polished chrome accents—definitely a head-turner on my desk.
The twist mechanism is satisfyingly smooth, and the Cross ink? Flawless. It glides like butter on paper, making even my terrible handwriting look somewhat presentable. The included black fine refill (#8514) is a nice touch.
BUT... it feels lighter than expected—almost too light. My old Cross pens had that substantial heft that screamed 'quality.' This one? More like a fancy plastic toy. At this price point, I expected a bit more oomph in the handfeel.
That said, as an everyday workhorse pen? It's fantastic. Comfortable grip, reliable performance, and refillable (eco-points!). Just don't expect that premium weightiness of higher-end Cross models.
Final verdict: 4/5 stars - loses one for the lightweight feel, but still writes better than 90% of pens out there.
