Okay, so I stumbled upon this book while desperately searching for something to make my kindergarten science lessons less... yawn-inducing. And wow, what a find!
The illustrations? Adorable. The explanations? So simple even my 5-year-olds get it (and that's saying something). We've done three of the experiments already using stuff from my junk drawer - total classroom win.
Seriously though, as a teacher, I appreciate how it breaks down big concepts into bite-sized pieces. My kids now shout "That's force!" when they see anything move. Even the janitor rolling his cart down the hall!
Bonus: The other K teachers in my building keep borrowing my copy. Might need to get a few more before ours gets too loved (read: covered in glue and glitter).
PS - The second grade teacher next door stole it for her force unit too. Guess I'm not getting that copy back...
