Just got the 'new' 4K release of Hitchcock's The Birds and... well, it's complicated. The pop art cover looks rad on my shelf (major hipster points), but Universal basically repackaged the same 2014 transfer.

The good: Image quality is sharp enough to see every terrifying feather during attack scenes. No digital copy included though - that offer expired back in 2016 (lol).

The bad: Still no 'Resume Play' function! Pausing this 2-hour thriller means restarting from scratch. Also zero new special features - not even that rumored alternate ending.

Verdict: Only upgrade if you're a completionist who needs matching 'Pop Art Series' spines. Otherwise stick with your old Blu-ray - the birds attack exactly the same way in both versions.
