Just finished 'The Girl Who Was Taken' and wow... my brain is still processing that wild ride! This book grabbed me by the throat from page one and didn't let go until the very end.
The alternating perspectives between Megan and Nicole created such delicious tension. I found myself constantly flipping back to check details - Donlea really makes you work for those clues!
That said... can we talk about the ending? No spoilers, but let's just say I screamed into my pillow at 2AM. Some might call it abrupt, but I actually loved how it subverted expectations. Real life doesn't always wrap up neatly with a bow, right?
Special shoutout to the forensic pathology elements - so well-researched they gave me actual chills. The autopsy scenes? Chef's kiss perfection for us true crime junkies.
Would I recommend? Absolutely! But maybe not right before bed unless you enjoy sleeping with the lights on...
