I recently got the musttrue Car Phone Holder for my VW Tiguan, and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it fits snugly into the horizontal slots on the dashboard, which is a huge plus. No more blocking the air vents or sticking adhesive to the dash—just a clean, secure fit.
The gravity linkage system is fantastic for one-handed use. I can easily slide my phone in and out without fumbling, even while driving. It holds my phone firmly, even on bumpy roads, which is a relief because I’ve had holders that let my phone fly out at the slightest bump.
However, there’s a catch. If you have a larger phone like the Google Pixel 8 or an S10 Plus with a case, this holder might not work for you. The side grips are too narrow, and it’s a hassle to remove your case every time you need directions. It’s frustrating because most people use protective cases, especially in cars.
Another minor issue is that it rattles a bit when empty, but tilting it upward solves that problem. It also covers some dashboard controls when in use, but it hasn’t been a dealbreaker for me.
Overall, if you have a VW Tiguan (2015-2024) and a phone that fits within the 3-inch width limit, this holder is a great choice. But if your phone is on the larger side or you rely heavily on protective cases, you might want to look elsewhere.
