Okay, so I finally got my hands on RISK Strike after hearing all the hype about it being a 'quick' version of Risk. As someone who loves the original but hates how it takes over your life for days, this was a must-try!
The first thing that surprised me? You can actually finish a game in 20 minutes. No joke. It's like they took all the best parts of Risk—the strategy, the battles, the backstabbing—and condensed it into this super fun card and dice game.
The components are solid too. The cards feel nice and durable, and the little domination coins are a cool touch. My only gripe? The rules can be a bit confusing at first. We had to read them like three times before it clicked, but once it did, the game flowed really well.
What I love most is how tactical it feels. You've got these action cards that let you sabotage, spy, or bombard your opponents—it's so satisfying to mess up someone else's plans! And even though it's shorter, it still has that classic Risk tension where every move matters.
Played it with my partner (just two players), and while it works, I do agree with other reviews that it’s easier to win by just drawing cards rather than battling. But with more players? Chaos in the best way possible.
Final verdict: If you love Risk but don’t have 6 hours to spare, this is PERFECT. It’s fast, fierce, and way more travel-friendly than the board game version. 10/10 would conquer continents again.
