Let me start by saying this Milwaukee M18 FUEL grinder is a beast! The 11A power output rivals corded models, and the brushless motor ensures efficiency. I’ve used it for everything from cutting rebar to smoothing welds, and it never hesitates.
The flathead design is a game-changer. I recently worked on a car restoration project where a traditional grinder couldn’t fit in the tight wheel wells - this one slid right in. The low profile really does make difference when you’re working in confined spaces.
Battery life is decent considering it’s a grinder. With my 5.0Ah battery, I get about 30-45 minutes of continuous heavy use. The RAPIDSTOP brake is impressive (stops in under 2 seconds) though one time I did have a disc come loose from the sudden stop - just make sure to tighten properly!
At about $200 tool-only, it’s pricey but worth every penny if you need its specialized capabilities. It’s become my go-to for metal fabrication work where precision matters.
Two minor complaints: It only takes 4-1/2" discs despite the 5" designation, and the length can be awkward sometimes. But for tight space grinding, nothing else in my toolkit compares.
