As a parent who used this workbook to help my child prepare for the IAR test, I have mixed feelings. The book does a decent job of breaking down skills individually, which helped us focus on specific areas that needed improvement.
However, I was surprised to find that each reading passage only has one accompanying question. This feels nothing like the actual IAR test format where passages typically have multiple questions. It made me question how effective this preparation really is.
The online component was another letdown - it's limited to one child at a time, which doesn't work well for classroom or tutoring settings. That said, my son did show some improvement in his scores after using this resource.
For parents looking for comprehensive test prep, this might not be the best choice. But if you need supplemental material to target specific skills, it could be somewhat helpful when used alongside other resources.
