Okay, so I've been using the HiBy R1 for about a month now, and let me tell you - this little gadget is like that complicated friend who's amazing but also makes you want to scream sometimes.
The Good Stuff: The sound quality? *chef's kiss* That CS43131 chip is no joke. My FLAC files have never sounded this crisp. And the fact that it supports up to 2TB storage means my entire music library can live in my pocket (though I had to buy a separate microSD card).
The Annoying Bits: Setting up WiFi feels like time traveling back to 2005 with that awful ABC/DEF/GHI keyboard. And don't get me started on the lack of manual - I've spent more time Googling how-tos than actually listening to music!
Pro Tip: After much frustration, I finally figured out how to add whole albums to playlists (see update in original review). Why isn't this explained anywhere?!
Would I recommend it? If you're patient and love tinkering with tech, yes. If you want something simple, maybe look elsewhere. Here's hoping HiBy keeps improving the firmware!
