As someone who recently jumped into the world of bread-making, this cookbook has been a game-changer. The variety of recipes is mind-blowing - from classic white bread to more adventurous options that I never thought to try in my bread machine.
What I love most is how beginner-friendly it is. The first time I used it, I was nervous about messing up, but the clear instructions walked me through each step. My first loaf came out perfect - golden crust, soft interior - and the smell filling my kitchen was incredible.
The book really shines in helping you understand your machine better. It explains why certain settings work better for different recipes, which has saved me from several potential baking disasters.
However, I did notice some minor inconsistencies between recipes (like measurements sometimes being in teaspoons and other times in grams). This isn't a dealbreaker for me since I'm comfortable enough with baking to adjust, but complete beginners might find this frustrating.
After trying about a dozen recipes so far, my favorites are the French bread (so much better than store-bought!) and an amazing cinnamon raisin loaf that's become my family's weekend treat. The gluten-free section has also been great when friends with dietary restrictions visit.
The only real downside is the lack of photos - it would be nice to see what the finished products should look like. But at this price point with so many recipes, it's still an incredible value that's earned a permanent spot on my kitchen counter.
