As someone who loves baking homemade bread, I was excited to try 'The Effortless Zojirushi Bread Maker Cookbook'. However, my experience quickly turned into a guessing game. The book claims to be tailored for Zojirushi machines, but the cycle names don't match my BB-PDC20 model at all.
I spent more time trying to decode cycle equivalencies than actually baking. Is 'basic cycle' the same as 'white cycle'? Who knows! My attempt using 'quick white' for a sweet recipe resulted in a soggy, underbaked mess - not exactly the effortless experience promised.
The recipes themselves seem decent (if generic), but the volumetric measurements are frustrating for serious bakers. I agree with other reviewers - weight measurements would make this infinitely more useful. The beautiful presentation can't make up for the fundamental mismatches with actual Zojirushi machines.
After multiple failed attempts and wasted ingredients, I've concluded this isn't really a Zojirushi-specific book at all. It's disappointing when publishers slap a brand name on what's essentially a generic bread cookbook. Save your money and look for resources that actually match your specific machine model.
