Just finished David Baldacci's 'To Die For' and wow, what a ride! Travis Devine is back, and this time he's knee-deep in conspiracies and danger. The way Baldacci weaves this story had me hooked from page one.
What I loved most was how complex yet relatable Travis is. He's got this moral code that's unshakable, but he's also human - makes mistakes, cares deeply for the orphaned girl at the center of the story. The action scenes? Absolutely pulse-pounding!
The plot twists kept coming when I least expected them. Just when I thought I had it figured out, bam! Another layer revealed. That remote community hiding dark secrets? Chilling stuff that feels way too plausible these days.
Only minor gripe - spotted a couple grammar hiccups ('or' instead of 'nor') and one confusing bit about offshore 401(k)s (that's... not how those work). But honestly? Didn't detract from the thrill ride.
If you're into action-packed thrillers with heart, this is your next read. Already counting down to Devine's next adventure!
