As a mom who's bought way too many athletic shorts for my active kids, I was excited to try the Under Armour Boys' Tech Mesh Shorts. After multiple washes and wears (including some intense backyard soccer games), here's my real take.

The breathable mesh fabric is LEGIT - my son never complains about overheating even during summer practices. The loose fit gives great freedom of movement, though I noticed they do run slightly shorter than expected (about 4-5" above the knee). Pro tip: size up if you want more length!

Durability gets an A+ from me. After months of rough play and weekly washes, the elastic waistband still snaps back perfectly and there's no pilling on the mesh. The open hand pockets are super convenient for storing small treasures (or at least that's what my son calls his random rocks).

One heads-up: Some colors seem slightly see-through when stretched, especially the lighter shades. We stuck with darker colors after our first purchase and had no issues. Also noticed minor size inconsistencies between different color batches - worth checking reviews for specific colors.

At this price point, they're a solid choice for everyday athletic wear. Not quite game-day material (due to the transparency issue), but perfect for practices, PE class, or casual wear. My son reaches for these more often than his other shorts - and that's saying something!
