At first glance, the O'Neal Element jersey looks like any other basic riding shirt, but after putting it through its paces, I've got some thoughts to share.
The fabric is thinner than expected - not the heavy-duty material I imagined for motorcycle gear. Yet here's the surprise: this lightweight jersey has survived months of enduro riding where I've snagged it on branches more times than I can count. No rips, no fraying seams.
I wear this 3 times a week year-round - under my jacket in winter, standalone in summer. After probably 50 washes (I stopped counting), the black color hasn't faded one bit. The V-neck isn't my favorite design choice, but at this price point, I can live with it.
The extended back tail is comically long - seriously, it's longer than my waterproof jacket. But this actually works great when you're leaned forward on the bike. The elbow reinforcement feels about as thick as a tortilla (laughs), but since I wear elbow pads anyway, it doesn't bother me.
For hot weather riding? Perfect. The breathable fabric keeps me surprisingly cool despite being long-sleeved. And those elastic cuffs? Genius feature that keeps dirt out during dusty trail rides.
Is it premium quality? No. But for the price, this jersey punches way above its weight class in durability and functionality. It's become my go-to for casual rides when I don't want to wear my heavy-duty gear.
