I've been waiting for this moment for years—Amadeus finally gets the 4K treatment it deserves. The restoration is nothing short of breathtaking. The film-like texture, the rich colors, and the crisp details make it feel like I'm watching it for the first time. And let's not forget the sound—every note of Mozart's genius feels alive, filling my living room with sonic brilliance.
I popped this in on a rainy Sunday, and within minutes, I was completely immersed. The theatrical version (which Milos Forman preferred) is the way to go—it’s tighter, more focused, and doesn’t overstay its welcome like the Director’s Cut. That said, having both options is a nice bonus.
The rivalry between Salieri and Mozart hits harder in 4K. The agony on Salieri’s face as he realizes he’ll never match Mozart’s talent? Chilling. And Mozart’s chaotic brilliance shines even brighter—his laughter, his tantrums, his sheer musicality. It’s a tragic masterpiece that somehow feels even more poignant in this format.
If you love cinema, music, or just stunning visual storytelling, this is a must-own. The packaging was pristine, delivery was quick, and the digital copy is a nice touch for on-the-go viewing. Amadeus has always been a favorite of mine—now it’s an absolute treasure in my collection.
