I recently got my hands on the EXCEART Electric Pigment Stirrer, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. The pink color is adorable, and the compact size makes it easy to store in my art kit. It feels lightweight and fits comfortably in my hand, which is great for long painting sessions.
However, I ran into some issues right away. The instructions were confusing at first—turns out the 'rubber' part they mention is actually white plastic on the mixer tips. One tip goes into the machine while you remove the other. Pro tip: use good AAA batteries because weak ones make it struggle.
The biggest letdown? The motor is WEAK. I tried mixing Himi gouache, and even after adding a ton of water, this little thing couldn’t handle the thickness. I ended up pre-mixing with a chopstick first, which kinda defeats the purpose. Also, after just a minute of use, it got uncomfortably hot, and switching tips was a nightmare—the metal part started pulling out of the plastic!
On the upside, it’s decent for lighter paints or frothing (though it spins so fast it might splatter everything). But if you’re working with thick gouache or acrylics, don’t expect miracles. For the price, I’d say it’s okay for occasional use but not a must-have.
