Let me start by saying these shorts are NOT your average leggings. The moment I slipped them on, I could feel the EXO-WEB panels working their magic - it's like having a supportive hug around my hips and lower back. As someone who deals with occasional SI joint pain, this targeted support was a game-changer during my 10K training.
The compression is SERIOUS business here. First time wearing them, I had to do the 'compression shorts dance' to get them on properly (you know what I mean!). They're thick and tight in all the right places, but surprisingly breathable thanks to those mesh panels. Did a humid summer run and didn't feel like I was in a sauna suit.
Now the not-so-great part: that high waist. While some reviewers love it, I found it borderline too restrictive during speed work. Had to size up from my usual small to medium for comfortable breathing room. Also, at this price point ($45-$72), I wish they included at least one secure pocket for gels - currently using a flip belt alongside these.
Durability has been impressive though. After 6 months of weekly runs and washes (always hang dry!), they look nearly new except for slight pilling where my running pack rubs. The compression hasn't loosened one bit.
Final verdict? If you're serious about running or deal with joint instability, these are worth the investment. But casual gym-goers might find cheaper alternatives sufficient.
