I recently got my hands on these 5-pack angle grinder discs, and after putting them through their paces, I have some thoughts to share.
First off, the cutting performance is decent. I used them to trim some corrugated plastic roofing for a DIY project, and they sliced through cleanly without any splintering. The discs held up well during this task, which was a good start.
When I tried them on small wood limbs, they performed adequately. They're not the fastest cutters out there, but they get the job done for light-duty work. The porous design seems to help with chip removal, though I did notice some heat buildup during extended use.
The size is convenient - at about 4 inches, they're easy to handle and store in my tool bag. However, I do wish there was some variety in thickness options included in the pack as other reviewers mentioned.
One concern I share with other users is about material quality. After just a few uses and some exposure to moisture (from cutting wet materials), I'm already noticing slight corrosion spots developing on a couple of the discs.
While they're marketed as 'indestructible', my experience suggests they're more suited for occasional light-to-medium duty work rather than heavy professional use. They work fine for what they are - budget-friendly multi-purpose cutting discs - but temper your expectations accordingly.
