Let me start by saying these underpads have been a lifesaver in my chaotic pet-filled household. I initially bought them for my elderly dog who's been having occasional accidents, but they've proven useful in so many unexpected ways.
The first thing I noticed was the generous size - at 23x36 inches, one pad easily covers the floor space of my dog's crate. No more awkward overlapping or constant adjusting throughout the day. When my pup has an accident (which happens more often now that she's older), the absorption is impressive. The liquid disappears quickly into the pad without pooling, and most importantly, it doesn't leak through to the floor beneath.
What surprised me was discovering other uses around the house. I now keep some in my car for emergency spills (coffee disasters, anyone?), under potted plants when repotting, and even as a quick clean-up solution for craft projects with my kids. The plastic backing really does prevent leaks from reaching surfaces underneath.
For pet owners specifically: these work much better than standard puppy pads I've tried before. They're thicker and more absorbent, though I will say they might not handle a full bladder from a large dog. For small to medium accidents or older pets with incontinence issues, they're perfect.
The only downside is environmental guilt - they are disposable after all. But when you're dealing with multiple pets or medical situations, sometimes convenience wins out. At about $0.30 per pad (for the 50-count), I find them reasonably priced for the quality and peace of mind they provide.
Pro tip: If you're using them in crates or under cages like I do, sprinkle a thin layer of cat litter on top to help with odor control and add extra absorption power!
