Just finished 'The Power of Three' and wow, this book is a rollercoaster! The way Rex and Digger's partnership evolves from reluctant allies to inseparable friends had me hooked. That scene where Rex overcomes his fear of dogs to protect Digger? Pure gold.
What I love most is how the action never lets up. One minute they're in Afghanistan taking down drug lords, the next they're faking their own deaths. The pacing is perfect - no dull moments, just edge-of-your-seat suspense.
The betrayal plotline adds such depth to the story. You can feel Rex's rage when he discovers the truth about the ambush. And Digger? That K9 steals every scene he's in - more personality than some human characters I've read!
Pro tip: Definitely read 'The Fulcrum' first. While this works as a standalone, understanding Rex's backstory makes his journey so much more impactful.
Already downloaded the next book - can't wait to see where this dynamic duo goes next (hopefully that promised peaceful life in India lasts about five minutes before more action begins!).
