Okay, so I got this CyclClimb thing because I wanted to feel like a legit cyclist who knows exactly how much I'm suffering on hills. First impression? It looks cool as hell on my handlebars.
The brass ball is way easier to read than those bubble levels - no squinting needed. Though I did paint some extra lines on mine because why not? Customization is key.
Installation was stupid easy. Like, 'I-didn't-even-need-to-yell-at-any-inanimate-objects' easy. The aluminum bracket hasn't budged, even when I'm bombing down trails that would make my mom faint.
BUT here's the tea: it dances around when you pedal hard. Like a drunk friend at last call. You gotta stop to get a proper reading, which kinda defeats the purpose? Still gives you a ballpark idea though.
For the price, it's a fun gadget. Not lab-grade precision, but good enough to settle 'how steep was that?!' arguments with riding buddies. 3.5/5 stars - loses points for the interpretive dance routine it does while riding.
