This foldable wooden palette seemed like a dream for my small art studio – space-saving and eco-friendly! The 15-inch size is perfect for mixing generous amounts of oil paints without feeling cramped.
First impressions were great – the wood feels sturdy and has a nice smooth finish. The thumb hole sits comfortably in my hand during long painting sessions. I especially love how it folds neatly to about half its size, making storage a breeze in my crowded art supply drawer.
However, I quickly noticed the quality control issues others mentioned. After just three uses, one of the rivets popped out unexpectedly. I had to improvise with a small bolt from my toolbox to keep it functional. The folding mechanism also doesn't align perfectly when opened.
When it works, it's fantastic – the wood surface holds paint well and cleans up easily with proper maintenance. But the structural flaws make me hesitant to recommend it wholeheartedly. If you're willing to do some DIY fixes, it can be serviceable, but serious artists might want something more reliable.
