I've been a huge fan of Alan Robert's horror coloring books, and this Halloween-themed edition is no exception. The moment I flipped through the pages, I was hooked by the gory yet playful illustrations that perfectly capture the spirit of Halloween.
The smaller size of this book is actually a blessing in disguise. It fits snugly in my bag, making it my go-to companion during my daily train commute. The one-sided, perforated pages are a dream—no more worrying about bleed-through when I go wild with my markers!
What really stands out is the variety in the artwork. While there are plenty of the signature gruesome scenes I love, the inclusion of some more 'sedate' illustrations offers a nice balance. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions—one minute I'm coloring a creepy clown, the next a whimsical haunted house.
The paper quality holds up well to different mediums. I've successfully used everything from colored pencils to light watercolors without issue. Though I did notice some pages have slight browning at the edges, it doesn't detract from the coloring experience.
This might be my favorite in the series yet—it's the perfect blend of horror and Halloween fun that keeps me coming back for 'just one more page' during my coloring sessions.
