Okay, so I just finished 'My Sister's Keeper' and wow... just wow. I need to process this.
First off, Jodi Picoult really knows how to twist the knife. The way she writes about family dynamics here is so raw and real. Anna's struggle for medical emancipation hit me harder than I expected.
What I loved most was how each character got their own voice. Sara's flashbacks? Genius way to show how this family got to this breaking point. And Campbell with his service dog Judge? That man had me laughing through my tears.
Fair warning: the ending will destroy you. I'm not a big crier with books, but this one got me. That twist? Didn't see it coming at all. My roommate walked in on me staring at the last page like '...what just happened?'
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but maybe not if you're looking for a light beach read. This one sticks with you.
