First impressions? This thing looks and feels sturdy. The zinc alloy and steel construction gives it a hefty, premium feel. The leather cover is a nice touch to protect my steering wheel from scratches.
Installation was straightforward, but here’s the catch—it doesn’t fit ALL cars perfectly. My friend’s Hyundai had issues with the dash design, leaving some wiggle room. However, on my SUV, it locks snugly when positioned on a spoke. Thieves would need to cut through the wheel multiple times, which is a solid deterrent.
Love the visual security aspect. It’s obvious enough to make thieves think twice, but not obnoxiously bulky. The dual keys (one spare!) and pure copper lock cylinder add peace of mind.
Downside? The Allen screw adjustment is finicky. If your dash isn’t flat or your steering wheel extends far out, it might not lock as tightly as you’d hope. Also, the ratchet slots could be more consistent—getting that last ‘click’ took some muscle.
Overall, it’s a 4/5 for me. Great for deterrence, but test-fit it first if your car has an unusual dash or wheel setup. Still, way better than those flimsy ‘Club’ locks!
