Okay, so I grabbed this C Wire Adapter hoping it'd solve my Nest Thermostat power struggles. Spoiler: mixed results.
First, the good stuff: The 26ft cable is LEGIT. No more playing 'outlet tetris'—I could route it neatly along the wall. Also, my Ring Doorbell loved it—plugged in and powered up instantly like magic. Zero complaints there.
Now the oof moments: Tried using it with my basic Nest Thermostat (not the fancy learning one). Big yikes. The adapter outputs 24V DC, but Nest needs AC. Cue the voltmeter drama—yep, definitely DC. Hooked it up anyway (rebel move) and got a scary 48V spike. Adapter later kicked the bucket. RIP.
Verdict? Works GREAT for Ring devices (5/5), but Nest users—double-check your voltage needs. Maybe keep the wine cellar idea though; that reviewer seemed onto something.
