Okay, so I totally bought this Sillbird robot kit thinking it would be a chill weekend project with my 8-year-old. Plot twist: it became MY new obsession! The 435 pieces looked intimidating at first, but those color-coded instructions? Lifesaver.
The LED eyes are HILARIOUS - they blink and make these cute beeping sounds that had my kid cracking up for hours. We built the dinosaur first (obviously), and watching it actually move with the remote control? Mind. Blown.
Pro tip: charge it fully before playing! We got about 35 minutes of continuous robo-dino mayhem before needing a recharge. The arms don't move automatically, but you can pose them - my son made his do 'jazz hands' which was... creative?
Fair warning: some connections are SUPER specific. Had to redo the head wiring three times because apparently robots don't like crooked faces. But when we finally got Wall-E's twin working? Instant cool dad points.
Now my kid wants to build all 5 models AND program new moves via Bluetooth. Guess who's getting a crash course in robotics this summer? *nervously Googles 'coding for beginners'*
