Let's be real – built-in TV speakers are terrible. I learned this the hard way after buying a budget 43-inch TV for my bedroom. The flat, lifeless sound had me searching for an affordable upgrade, and that's when I discovered the Hiwill HW210 soundbar.
The unboxing experience was surprisingly premium. No messy styrofoam everywhere – just clean packaging with high-quality foam. Everything you need is included: soundbar, wired subwoofer, remote with batteries, power adapter, wall mount kit, and multiple connection cables (even an HDMI cable!).
Sound quality? For $70, it's impressive. Dialogues gain warmth and clarity while the 5.25" subwoofer adds noticeable (though not earth-shaking) bass. It won't replace a true home theater system, but it absolutely destroys built-in TV speakers.
Setup was straightforward with multiple connection options. I used HDMI ARC which generally works well, though occasionally requires manual reconnection when turning on the TV (you'll hear a confirmation beep when it connects).
The compact design is perfect for smaller spaces – it doesn't block my TV screen even from low viewing angles. The included wall mount kit offers flexible placement options too.
One quirk: initially the bass sounded disconnected because the subwoofer was on the floor far from the soundbar. Placing it behind my TV created a much more cohesive soundstage.
Bluetooth 5.3 works flawlessly for streaming music from phones or tablets – a nice bonus feature that makes this more than just a TV accessory.
While not perfect (the small drivers limit midrange performance), this soundbar delivers remarkable value at its price point. If you're looking to dramatically improve your TV audio without breaking the bank, the Hiwill HW210 is an excellent choice.
