Let me start by saying the Vine Smart Thermostat's 4-inch color screen is gorgeous. It automatically adjusts brightness, making it easy to read whether it's midday or midnight. The touch response is smooth, and navigating menus feels intuitive - a big upgrade from my old thermostat's tiny display.
The app control is where this thermostat shines. Being able to adjust my home's temperature while stuck in traffic or checking if I forgot to turn off the AC while on vacation is game-changing. The scheduling feature works well too, automatically switching between home and away modes based on my routine.
However, I've noticed some significant issues. Like several reviewers mentioned, the temperature readings can be wildly inaccurate - mine shows about 4 degrees warmer than actual room temperature. This makes the auto-adjust features practically useless since they're working with wrong data.
Installation was straightforward for me (I had a C-wire ready), but I can see how others might struggle. The voice control limitations are annoying too - why can I tell Alexa to turn it on but not set a specific temperature? That seems like such an obvious feature to include.
For mild climates or as a secondary thermostat, this might work fine. But if you need precise temperature control (like in extreme heat), you might want to look elsewhere despite the attractive features.
