Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Tomb Raider 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital combo, and here’s the tea.
First off, Alicia Vikander as young Lara Croft? Solid. She brings a raw, scrappy energy that’s different from Angelina Jolie’s iconic take. No shade to Jolie—she’ll always be *that* Lara—but Vikander makes it her own. That said, if you’re expecting campy one-liners and over-the-top action like the early 2000s films, dial those expectations back. This reboot is grittier, more survivalist.
The 4K visuals? Stunning. The jungle scenes pop with insane detail, and the HDR makes shadows in tomb sequences actually scary. Sound design is crisp too—arrows whizzing past your head? Yeah, my surround sound had me ducking.
BUT. The bonus features are kinda meh. Three short behind-the-scenes clips and a 10-minute game franchise recap? For a movie this big? Lazy. Also, heads up: some listings show a steelbook, but mine came in standard packaging. Not a dealbreaker but… *side-eye*.
Verdict: Fun ride for action fans, but don’t expect depth or Jolie-level charisma. 7/10.
