I’ve been using this puffer jacket for my 5-year-old for months now, and it’s become our go-to outerwear. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is—perfect for layering over a hoodie when it’s chilly but not bulky like traditional winter coats. My kid actually wants to wear it, which says a lot!
The water-resistant fabric has held up surprisingly well. We’ve survived sudden drizzles, though I wouldn’t trust it in heavy rain (learned that the hard way when my little one decided to belly-flop into a puddle). The included stuff sack makes it easy to toss in the stroller for unpredictable weather.
Sizing tip: Runs true-to-size but with room to grow. We sized up to a Medium, and the sleeves still cuff neatly while allowing space for thicker sweaters underneath. The double zipper is genius—no more struggling with stiff zippers mid-tantrum!
What surprised me most? After multiple washes, it still looks brand new. The teal color (which I low-key envy) hasn’t faded at all. It’s not Arctic-proof, but paired with layers, we’ve comfortably used it down to 40°F during soccer practice mornings.
The only hiccup? Occasionally the zipper needs a gentle wiggle to start smoothly. But for the price and how often we reach for this jacket (literally every other day), it’s been a win.
