Okay, so my dryer decided to retire mid-cycle last week. Not cool, GE. Not cool.
After some frantic Googling (and mild panic about laundry piling up), I found this OEM heating element. Let me tell you - this bad boy brought my ancient dryer back from the dead!
The installation wasn't too bad, though I did have to YouTube how to disassemble the drum (pro tip: take pictures as you go). The part fit like it was made for my dryer... because it was!
Two things surprised me: 1) How sturdy this thing feels compared to the crumbly original, and 2) My clothes actually dry FASTER now than before it broke. Weird bonus?
Only complaint? Wish I'd known to replace the bearings while I had everything apart. Might be doing this again sooner than necessary.
PSA: If your dryer's taking forever to dry or not heating at all, don't call a repair guy yet - try this $60 fix first!
