Let me start by saying this set is a fantastic deal for the price. The net is surprisingly sturdy and regulation-sized, which is perfect for serious games. I used it during a family picnic, and it held up well even when my competitive uncles started spiking the volleyball like it was the Olympics.
The setup is super easy – I had it up in about 10 minutes. The carrying case is a nice touch, making it convenient to transport. However, like others mentioned, you'll definitely want a mallet if you're setting this up on sand or hard ground. I learned this the hard way when trying to hammer those stakes in with my bare hands (not recommended!).
Now for the downsides: The badminton rackets are basically disposable. After just one afternoon of play, the grips were unraveling and one racket snapped at the handle. The shuttlecocks are also too light – they fly unpredictably in even slight breezes. If you're serious about badminton, budget for better equipment separately.
The volleyball included is decent for casual play but won't satisfy serious players. My volleyball-enthusiast cousin immediately swapped it out for a Wilson ball from his bag.
Where this set really shines is as an all-in-one party or camping game solution. We left it set up at our campsite for three days through some windy conditions, and it stayed perfectly taut. The powder-coated poles show no signs of rust after multiple uses.
Final verdict: Amazing value if you're mainly after the net system (which is excellent), but be prepared to upgrade some accessories for better performance.
