Let me start by saying I had HIGH hopes for this Latex Thickener. As someone who regularly makes custom masks and props, finding a reliable thickener is crucial. The product promises to transform liquid latex into a more workable consistency for detailed molds - but does it deliver?
First impression: The gel has a strange, runny jelly consistency that immediately made me skeptical. Following the 'little goes a long way' advice from some reviews, I started with small amounts. After mixing about 1/4 of the jar with my usual liquid latex (as recommended by other thickeners), I noticed... barely any difference in viscosity.
The biggest frustration? Complete lack of instructions. For beginners especially, this is a major drawback. I had to experiment through trial and error, wasting both product and time. When I finally used about half the jar with my latex, there was SOME thickening effect - but nothing like what's advertised.
On the positive side: When you use ENORMOUS quantities (nearly the whole jar per project), it does make the latex slightly more manageable for brush application. But at that point, you're basically just diluting your expensive latex with this gel rather than truly thickening it.
Final verdict? If you're working on professional projects or value your materials, skip this one. The inconsistent results and complete lack of customer support make it more trouble than it's worth. There are better thickening options out there that won't leave you frustrated mid-project.
