Let me start by saying I've been using the KUNIST front hood weather seal on my 2021 Tesla Model 3 for about three months now. The product promises to keep out rain, dust, and debris while reducing wind noise - sounds perfect, right? Well, the reality is a bit more complicated.
The good news first: When properly installed, this thing actually works! I've noticed significantly less debris accumulation in my frunk area after driving through leafy neighborhoods. The rubber seal creates a satisfying 'whoosh' sound when closing the hood that makes it feel more premium. During heavy rains, I no longer find water pooling near the bolts - which was my main reason for buying this.
Now for the not-so-great parts: The installation is needlessly frustrating. Like other reviewers mentioned, threading that rubber strip through the plastic channels feels like solving a Rubik's cube blindfolded. Pro tip: Use dish soap as lubricant (learned this after 30 minutes of struggle). Also surprising - Tesla's own weather stripping needs to be removed first, which isn't clearly stated upfront.
The adhesive quality is hit-or-miss. My passenger side started peeling after two weeks until I reinforced it with 3M automotive tape (which should really be included). Wind noise reduction is noticeable but not dramatic - maybe 15-20% quieter at highway speeds.
Would I recommend it? If you're handy and patient during installation, yes - especially for $25 it's decent value. But if you expect plug-and-play perfection or significant noise reduction, you might be disappointed. For me, the debris protection alone makes it worth keeping installed.
