Let me start by saying this phone holder is a lifesaver for my daily commute in my 2021 Mazda 3. The installation was a breeze - just snap it into place over the hazard button area. No tools, no sticky residues, and most importantly, no damage to my car's interior.
The gravity linkage system works like magic. I can literally toss my iPhone 13 Pro (with its chunky case) into the holder with one hand while keeping my eyes on the road. It grips tight even during sharp turns, which is more than I can say for some premium mounts I've tried.
Now for the not-so-great parts. When driving without a phone in it, this thing rattles like maracas in a salsa band. I've resorted to keeping an old phone in it just to shut it up on days when I'm using CarPlay instead. And yes, it does partially block the infotainment screen - I've learned to tilt my head slightly when backing up.
The plastic feels cheaper than I expected for $26. After six months of use, one corner has started refusing to stay clipped in properly. It hasn't failed completely yet, but I'm keeping super glue handy just in case.
Would I recommend it? If you drive a 2019+ Mazda 3 and need a simple solution that won't damage your dash, yes - but go in knowing its limitations. For me, the convenience outweighs the annoyances... barely.
