Let me start by saying I had high hopes for these FH Group floor mats. The price was right, and the promise of a 'universal fit' for my car sounded perfect. But after using them for a few weeks, I have some thoughts to share.
The fit is... okay. They don't slide around thanks to the non-slip backing, which is a huge plus. My old mats used to creep up under the pedals, and these stay put. However, the passenger side mat in my sedan is noticeably smaller than it should be – it looks like someone took scissors to it!
Quality-wise, they're thin. Not dollar-store thin, but definitely not plush like OEM mats. That said, they do trap dirt well (maybe too well – more on that later). The tan color is actually really nice – not too light to show every speck of dirt, not too dark to look dingy.
Now, about that smell... Oh boy. When I first opened the package, it hit me like a wall. Chemical factory meets new car smell's evil twin. I followed the advice to air them out in sunlight for hours (ended up being days), and while it improved, there's still a faint odor weeks later.
Cleaning is another issue. They attract dirt like magnets, and when you try to clean them? Forget it. My once-tan mats now have permanent stains after just one attempt with carpet cleaner.
Would I recommend them? If you need cheap temporary mats or are selling your car soon – sure. For long-term use? Spend a bit more for better quality. These are the fast fashion of car mats – they'll do in a pinch but won't last.
