After 6 months of using the AIRZONE Aidoo with my Mitsubishi MSZ-FH18NA2, I can confidently say this little device transformed how I interact with my AC - though it's not without flaws.
PROS THAT STAND OUT:
• The Airzone Cloud app is shockingly responsive - temperature adjustments happen in real-time, putting Mitsubishi's own Kumo Cloud to shame. The scheduling feature? Chef's kiss.
• Installation was simpler than expected once I found the hidden port under the rubber gasket (protip: look for a covered 4-pin connector near your AC's circuit board).
• Multi-user access is brilliant - my spouse and I can both adjust settings without playing 'remote control tag'.
FRUSTRATING REALITIES:
• That Alexa integration? A nightmare. Took me 3 hours to realize I needed the 'Airzone Cloud' skill instead of 'Aidoo' skill. Even then, voice commands only work intermittently.
• Like several reviewers, I've experienced random disconnections requiring physical resets. Not fun when your unit is mounted high on a wall.
• Mode selection (heat/cool/fan) is bizarrely locked to the physical remote - a baffling limitation for a $175 smart controller.
VERDICT: If you can live with its quirks, this is currently the best third-party solution for Mitsubishi owners wanting proper smart controls. Just don't expect flawless smart home integration.
