Just finished Kristin Hannah's 'The Great Alone' and wow – my emotions are still all over the place! This book grabbed me from page one and didn't let go.
The way Hannah describes Alaska is incredible. I could practically feel the biting cold and see the wild landscapes. It's like another character in the story – beautiful but dangerous.
Leni's story broke my heart so many times. Watching her navigate her father's PTSD and her mother's struggles was tough but so compelling. That mother-daughter bond? Absolutely wrecked me (in the best way).
Fair warning: keep tissues handy. There were moments I had to put the book down just to process everything. But I always picked it right back up – the suspense is that good!
This was my first Kristin Hannah novel, but definitely not my last. Her writing makes you feel everything so deeply. 5/5 stars – would recommend to anyone who loves powerful, emotional stories.
